Currently under construction at the China Merchants Industry Holdings shipyard, Ocean Victory will be chartered from SunStone Ships and sail in Antarctica. The ship will boast 93 cabins, several restaurants, an open- air dining venue, a bar, a wellness area, a lecture lounge and many other amenities. Interiors have been created by US-based company Tomas Tillberg Design. “Like any true expedition ship, Ocean Victory has been designed with safety and comfort in mind,” says Tomas Tillberg, managing partner of the company. “Guests will feel welcome as soon as they step onboard thanks to the comfortable and luxurious interiors decorated with adjustable mood lighting and soft and warm tones.” Tillberg’s design will fully immerse guests in the Antarctic region. Many of the public spaces will have panoramic windows and all 93 cabins will have a view of the ocean. “The interiors will complement the outdoor environment and the amazing views will be an integral part of each space,” he says. “We’ve carefully curated the art collection to include pieces illustrating the unique nature and wildlife of the destinations Ocean Victory will visit, as well as historical pieces to educate guests.” According to Tillberg, guests can look forward to several noteworthy innovations. “The heated infinity pool and the fireplace on the outer deck will be a nice perk, as will the restaurant on the top deck,” he says. “It will have an innovative window that converts into a glass rail at the touch of a button to completely transform the space from an indoor to an al fresco dining venue. I’m most excited about the Observation Lounge at the forward end of the top deck, which will offer guests the best views of the ocean in comfortable surroundings.” CFI “The amazing views will be an integral part of each space”
