2 6 4 Port Everglades is gearing up to welcome five brand new cruise ships to Florida in November 2020 NORTH AMERICA: REPORT A growing homeport Port Everglades has multiple cruise berths, allowing it to easily handle multiple ship calls at the same time F ive newly built cruise ships will call Port Everglades home from autumn 2020. First to arrive at the port in Broward County, Florida will be Royal Caribbean International’s Odyssey of the Seas on 2 November. She will be the first Quantum- class ship to sail from Florida and will be based at Port Everglades until spring 2021. Next up will be Celebrity Cruises’ 129,500gt Celebrity Apex on 5 November. Designed as a sister to the award-winning Celebrity Edge, the 2,910-guest Celebrity Apex will offer the latest culinary, spa and wellness experiences, and progressive entertainment. She will offer departures from Port Everglades during winter and spring 2021. Launching its new line in 2020, The Ritz- Carlton Yacht Collection will bring its 298-guest Evrima to Port Everglades on 6 November. Princess Cruises’ Enchanted Princess will then make her North American debut at Port Everglades on 19-21 November. The 143,700gt, 3,660-guest Enchanted Princess is the line’s fifth Royal-class cruise ship and its second purpose-built MedallionClass vessel. Enchanted Princess will be based at Port Everglades throughout winter and spring 2021. Finally, Silversea Cruises’ Silver Moon will arrive at Port Everglades on 23 November for her first-ever call to the US mainland after inaugural sailings in the Mediterranean. In addition, Carnival Cruise Line’s popular ship Carnival Breeze will make her maiden call to Port Everglades on 4 October. The 3,690-passenger vessel will sail itineraries from the port until 2 May 2021. Guests departing on these ships will benefit from Port Everglades’ enviable location in the heart of South Florida and its close proximity to the Caribbean and three international airports, including the Fort Lauderdale- Hollywood International Airport, which is less than two miles away. Port Everglades, which is one of the world’s three busiest cruise ports and hosts nearly four million passengers annually, also offers nearby activities for pre- and post-cruise stays. They include sweeping beachfronts, a vibrant art scene, world-class restaurants, craft breweries, entertainment, shopping, casinos and family- friendly activities like the port’s namesake, the Florida Everglades. CFR HIT TING AN ALL-TIME HIGH Port Everglades broke its own record for handling the most cruise passengers at a port in a single day on 1 December 2019.
