Since its inception in 1989 with two ships from the Chandris Group, the line has developed into a modern fleet with 13 vessels. Within the past year the line has launched its new Celebrity Edge-class ship and begun a new refurbishment programme named Celebrity Revolution. This has seen The Retreat Sundeck and Lounge added to Celebrity Millennium, and a new top-deck Lawn Club with real grass added to Solstice- class vessels. The lines newest ship, Celebrity Flora, is the first of its kind to be purpose- built to sail in the Galapagos Islands, and is the most efficient to sail in the region. But Celebrity’s five Edge-class ships – its first newbuilds in 10 years – are the biggest indication of just how far the line has come in 30 years. Launched with the debut of Celebrity Edge in December 2018, this class truly epitomises the brand’s innovative spirit with features like the Magic Carpet.
