The Fusion Global PAYplus packaged solution, built on Microsoft Azure, will enable small and mid-size financial institutions in the EU and US to access cloud benefits, without the cost and on-premises infrastructure. The solution will become available in the second quarter of 2019. C ompanies across the globe are realising the benefits of the Microsoft Azure cloud. Gap is the latest in a long line of retailers adopting the service. The firm, which includes brands such as Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic, Athleta, Hill City and Intermix, will use Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 to accelerate mobile and digital capabilities, modernise its supply chain, improve the in-store experience and deliver new ways to shop. “Azure is going to play a very, very big role for us to be able to scale our business seamlessly,” said Rathi Murthy, Gap Inc.’s chief technology officer. In the utilities market, British multinational energy and services company Centrica has agreed to implement an end-to- end software and services solution based on Microsoft Dynamics 365, underpinned by artificial intelligence (AI) from the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. The technology is even extending to agriculture.
