The process that was undertaken for this is outlined below: Notification (2017–144) (www.cbd.int/doc/notifica- tions/2017/ntf-2017-144-cbd-en.pdf) was issued on 21 De- cember 2017, inviting Parties to submit case studies of their national achievements and successes under the Convention on Biological Diversity for inclusion in a commemorative publication for the 25th anniversary of the entry into force of the Convention. A follow up call for submissions was sent via email on 16 February to all National Focal points, reminding them to send the case studies no later than 2 April 2018. Notification (2018–052) (www.cbd.int/doc/notifica- tions/2018/ntf-2018-052-case-studies-en.pdf) was issued on 5 June 2018 requesting Parties that have not yet submit- ted their information to do so no later than 21 June 2018. The Notification also stated that the Secretariat reserved the right to use information found in the National Report in the event that a case study was not submitted. Accordingly, the Secretariat drafted text for the outstand- ing cases studies based on information contained in the National Reports. These case studies were sent to National Focal points by email on 4 September 2018 with a request for a reply by 10 September 2018. Absent a reply, the cases were published as is.
