During this time, Turku renovated many of the public spaces with new equipment and soft furnishings. It replaced the ceilings in the Buffet Restaurant and Sea Shop and opened the two conference rooms up into one larger space. The shipyard also carried out technical improvements on the ferry, including installing preparatory technology for using shore power in port and a ballast water treatment system to reduce its environmental impact. In January 2020, Nauta Shiprepair Yard carried out maintenance and renovation work onboard Tallink Grupp’s ferry, Romantika. The shipyard successfully upgraded the ferry’s buffet restaurant, cafe and bar, redecorated the Grill House and à la carte Russian restaurant, and added a new floor and furniture to the disco venue. In addition to the onboard improvements, the Nauta team also made technical enhancements to Romantika to reduce emissions. This included fitting the vessel with the technology to connect to shore power facilities when in port. Following her tight-scheduled renovations, Romantika resumed service between Riga, Latvia and Stockholm, Sweden. Nauta Shipyard Gdynia, Poland Photo: Sami_Pitkanen Photo: Marko Stampehl
