3 3 Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady launched by Richard Branson Virgin Voyages’ first ship, Scarlet Lady, has been launched by Virgin Group founder Richard Branson in Dover, England. Branson joined several other Virgin Voyages executives at an event onboard the ship, which was attended by CFR and other invited guests. The vessel will now sail to Miami, US for her christening and maiden voyage around the Caribbean. MARKETWATCH Photo: Virgin Voyages Photo: DFDS DFDS has revealed the new features onboard Dunkerque Seaways, the first of three ships on the Dover, UK to Dunkirk, France route to be refitted in an investment of £3.9 million (US$5.07 million) by the ferry operator. A new adults-only Relax lounge has been introduced, while the existing Premium Lounge areas have been refurbished with new furniture and modern décor. Passengers will also be able to dine at a new pizza, pasta and salad restaurant, Horizon. The refurbishment programme will continue with the refit of Delft Seaways from 1 March, followed by Dover Seaways at the end of the same month. DFDS reveals new features in Dunkerque Seaways refit Norwegian Cruise Line has completed its US$100 million renovation of Norwegian Spirit, introducing changes to all staterooms, dining venues and public areas as part of The Norwegian Edge programme. After a 43-day dry dock in Marseille, France, Norwegian Spirit now features 14 new venues, including an expanded Mandara Spa and an additional main dining room. New and updated staterooms have also been added to the ship and her hull livery has been redesigned. Regent Seven Seas has officially christened its newest ship, Seven Seas Splendor, at a ceremony in Miami, US. Nearly 1,000 guests attended a black-tie event onboard the new luxury cruise ship. The ship’s godmother, model and actress Christie Brinkley, delivered the traditional blessing and triggered the smashing of a 15-litre champagne bottle against the ship’s hull, before celebrations came to an end with a performance by Grammy- award-winning singer-songwriter Seal.
