4 2 MARKETWATCH 3deluxe designs Destination Gateway on Celebrity Apex 3deluxe has designed a modern and versatile welcome lounge on Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Apex which will launch in spring 2020. The Destination Gateway will serve as the tendering point for onshore excursions. The space, which is also located on sister ship Celebrity Edge, features large LCD screens to display images of the forthcoming port of call and immerse passengers into its culture and sights. When it is not needed for tendering, the Destination Gateway can also host expert discussions, meetings and conferences, or serve as an expansion of the neighbouring Teen Centre. The interior design with its clear, curved lines and variable lighting creates a backdrop suitable for any use. Getslash improves in-room sustainability with CruiseSmart Getslash is connecting in-room automation with onboard IT systems to create new scenarios for cruise lines and their guests. Its new CruiseSmart product enables guests to control the room temperature, lighting, curtains and blinds from their fingertips. The room controls can be used via TV, in-room tablets or a customised app on the guests’ personal mobile devices. CruiseSmart also uses an efficient energy management system which automatically adjusts in-room energy consumers, such as heating and air conditioning (AC), based on the current room status. For example, if a guest leaves the cabin, the AC is switched to an energy-saving mode and all lights are turned off. As a result, cruise lines save energy and reduce their environmental impact while enhancing guest comfort.
