The Road to the SDGs

OVERVIEW Considering the steady increase in the global population with at least 40 million young men and women entering the job market annually, the acceleration of structural challenges due to the fourth industrial revolution and the emerging new Post-COVID-19 global context, the world is poised at a crossroads, with major tradeoffs to balance and an important choice to make — that is, to deglobalise or reglobalise. This book belongs to The Future series of publications, led by IsDB's Department of Strategy and Transformation (DoST), that aims to create a feasible pathway to reglobalisation. By capitalising on the intrinsic comparative advantage of developing countries and building their capacity to supply global markets in a manner as efficient as the alternatives in times of crisis, globalisation can become more resilient, smart, green and inclusive of those nations that have historically been left behind. Moving from strategy to execution, IsDB Group is happy to report in this publication how it transformed itself and how Member Countries are taking charge of their economic transformation journey, championing industries of comparative advantage, and forming global coalitions that are driven by a shared vision of the future of humanity.
